OpenAFS Release Notes - Version 1.5.11
       _________________________________________________________________
Windows: Major bugfixes
Other platforms: Minor bugfixes
       _________________________________________________________________

* Bugfixes:

Microsoft Windows:

The 1.5.11 release fixes one critical error:

  * when an application calls "FlushFile" the dirty buffers held
by the AFS Cache Manager would successfully be flushed but an
error would be reported to the application. This frequently
    resulted in the application exiting.

This problem has adversely affected a number of source code
repositories including both CVS and Subversion.

The 1.5.11 release fixes one other issue:

  * When Windows Offline Folders are turned on, the Explorer
shell will specify the source file name in a RenameFile operation
in all uppercase. This would result in a file not found error
if if there is only a single file that would be matched if not
for case-sensitivity. As of this release, a case-sensitive match
is attempted and if that fails at most one file will be renamed
(at random) if there is a case-insensitive match.

An update on Microsoft Vista support:

  * 1.5.11 will panic if Microsoft Vista enters one of the Standby
modes. In Vista, the Microsoft Loopback Adapter is shutdown
during a Standby operation which causes afsd_service.exe to lose
its LANA binding. This will be addressed in a future release.

MacOS:

* Both 10.4 and 10.5 have had the network interface statistics gathering
code corrected; 10.5 will no longer panic in rxi_GetIFInfo.

Linux:

* amd64 system call table range checking is improved to work correctly in
   more cases.

* Changes to deal with newer Linux kernels have been incorporated.
