Yes, I have successfully configured/used a dual Opteron Box as an AFS
fileserver using 1.3.79 with XFS, I think it was a 2.4.25 kernel.

You can find my RPMS for Mandrake 10.1 from
http://www.ictp.it/~onime/amd64/openafs-1.3.79/

I think I got the original src.rpm from a Fedora site but I can't remember
if I had to make any major apart from some rpm dependencies.

Maybe you can try to build using this src.rpm.
