No, this is not restricted to Windows. Though it worked well most of
the time, I encountered some messages about a "recursion too deep" on
my Linux boxes as well (I dont't remember exactly the opportunity). I
now use a structure of
/afs/cellname/user/schulz
/afs/cellname/user/Backup/schulz
No problems with that.
(there is no user called "Backup", for sure..)
