[OpenAFS] Availability on Linux 2.4 SMP

Hello,

I would like to know if OpenAFS is ready for use on a Linux 2.4 SMP
system. I have seen that RPMs for RedHat 7.1 (kernel 2.4.2) are available,
but they contain only UP kernel modules : is it safe to compile OpenAFS
kernel modules for 2.4 SMP right now ?

I mean for production use : if this is not stable, I'd rather boot my dual
processor box in UP... This is the way it runs right now, and it seems
stable so far (it acts as an AFS client, on a RH 7.1).
