[OpenAFS] openafs on mandrake 8.1

Hi,
I have a few questions about openafs:

1) How do you start it? Do you use the afs.rc.linux script provided
in the src/afsd directory? Or is there something else involved?

2) When I do run that script, all I get is a message "Starting AFS 
services.....", but nothing is mounted on /afs. What's happening?
