[OpenAFS] CellServerDB and unmounting afs

I am using OpenAFS on 1.2.7 on MacOS X 10.2. I reduced the servers in 
CellServerDB to those of my interest. AFS continue to mount servers 
which I am not requiring. Can anybody explain why?
Occasionally I want to unmount AFS. In the previous version (1.2.5 with 
OS X 10.1) I found a friendly procedure to unmount AFS. At present 
after unmounting the AFS volume and kextunload the bundle the Finder 
hangs.
