I'm not aware of any need for the db servers to be on the same network.

As for the server versions - I think a more accurate description would =
be to keep them at the same general version... As far as I know, =
anything >=3D 3.5 and any openafs releases are all compatible. Don't mix =
with 3.4, and definately not with earlier than that.=20

But as Derek said, it's trivial to upgrade your suns to use the OpenAFS =
version of the servers, which fix other security issues, you might as =
well do that.
