[OpenAFS] Visual C++ on OpenAFS = link error

I'm trying to run Visual C++ (6.0SP5) on projects in OpenAFS.
However, this always yields

fatal error LNK1106: invalid file or disk full: cannot seek to 0x...

(This is OpenAFS 1.2.10.)

Anyone know how to work around this?  Any help would be much
appreciated.
