Hi,
On OpenAFS 1.2.10, SuSE 8.2:
'uss delete' aborts with an error message when you specify the mount point
for
the user's home directory:
$ uss delete smith /afs/.cabi.rfmh.org/usr/smith -admin admin -verbose
No cell specified; assuming 'cabi.rfmh.org'.
Password for 'admin':
Translating user 'smith' via the Protection DB
s: Volume 'uss' (ID 135067552) exists on multiple servers!!
- 'uss bulk' delete gives the same error
- ID 135067552 is reported no matter which user I try to delete
- this error was previously reported in March, but I didn't see any replies
- that was for OpenAFS 1.2.8 on RH 7.3/8.0
But it works on Transarc AFS 3.6, AIX 4.3.3:
$ uss delete smith /afs/.cabi.rfmh.org/usr/smith -admin admin -verbose
No cell specified; assuming 'cabi.rfmh.org'.
Password for 'admin':
Translating user 'smith' via the Protection DB
Unmounting volume 'user.smith' (ID 536871340) mounted at
'/afs/.cabi.rfmh.org/usr/smith'
Deleting volume 'user.smith' (ID 536871340)
Deleting user 'smith' from Authentication DB
Deleting user 'smith' from the Protection DB
$ vos release user
On OpenAFS, if you don't specify the mount point it works:
$ uss delete jones -admin admin -verbose
No cell specified; assuming 'cabi.rfmh.org'.
Password for 'admin':
Translating user 'jones' via the Protection DB
uss: Warning: Mountpoint pathname '': Not found
Deleting user 'jones' from Authentication DB
Deleting user 'jones' from the Protection DB
- then 'fs rmmount' to remove the mountpoint, 'vos remove' to remove the
volume,
then 'vos release user'
Dave
