I'm not a Heimdal person, but anyway:
The new ioctl based kernel interface is implemented in lib/kafs/afssys.c
in the Heimdal CVS repo. It's not in any release, but I suppose you can
grab the patch from CVS or from one of the snapshots, add it to the SuSE
heimdal source RPM and recompile.
(On Red Hat and Fedora it's the pam_krb5 and krbafs packages that needs
to be updated.)
