[OpenAFS] strange file creation dates

Hello,

A faculty member here is using an older windows client (1.2.6) to connect to a
OpenAFS server (1.2.8).

When using Tex, after he "compiles" TeX into dvi the tex source file gets a date
stamp of dec. 31 1969.

Is something like this a known problem ?

(I know I have to update "that" server, I am working on building a new one).
