[OpenAFS] Tru64 5.1 Issue

I have the 1.2.11 source and built it on a Tru64 5.1 box.  I followed the
instructions on openafs.org for bringing the system up and I can see AFS
space ok.  The problem I'm having is that I can't get any tokens.  I'm
always getting the message 'Unable to authenticate to AFS because password
was incorrect.'.  When I do a 'pts example <userid>' on the box I get an
error:

libprot: no such entry Could not get afs tokens, running unauthenticated.

After that error the correct output for the user follows though.  I've also
verified that there is network activity when I do the klog.  It's clearly
intereacting with the server, it just never seems to think the password is
correct.

Any ideas?
