for example  time dd if=/dev/zero of=/afs/test/testfile.dd count=50 bs=1M 
; sync

and then used the calculator  :-)

i haven't tried afsfsperf for now .. but i will setup a project for a 
student to do some testing later ...

How did you benchmark ?

If you did it with afsfsperf i would be happy to add it to my statistics
matrix named above.
