Hey, Holger... while you're here, I thought I would bring something up :)

The Gentoo OpenAFS has a few errors in it -- were there any plans to 
make corrections or improve it?

It says that the AFS partitions should be called "/vicex" and not 
"vicepx" which really tripped me up.
