I grabbed the 1.4.1-rc2 src.tar and doc.tar files.

I installed the 1.4.0 src.rpm, replaced the src.tar and doc.tar files in 
/usr/src/redhad/SOURCE with the 1.4.1-rc2 files, updated the 
SPEC/openafs.spec file to call them and compiled.

The compile went fine, however I'm getting the following error on boot:

Starting openafs-client: FATAL: Error inserting openafs 
(/lib/modules/2.6.9-22.0.1.ELsmp/kernel/fs/openafs/openafs.ko): Invalid 
module format
failed to load openafs kernel module.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were buggy since the patches might not 
have applied properly but I am a bit surprised by the module itself 
having an invalid format.
