I have posted several times about this very issue, although in my case the
volserver dies as well just the fileserver keeps running.
We are running Suse 9.0 so the kernel is 2.4.
In my case its every 25 days almost within a hour.
If I put a weekly restart (bos setrestart) in the BosConfig file it
doesn't happen.
I have one server running Suse 9.2 as a test and one server running
openafs 1.3.76 also as a test. The 25 days has yet to expire.
I ran one server with gdb attached but when the process died I didn't get
a backtrace.
