Also have you checked out the OpenAFS Wiki on this subject[1]?  I 
haven't tried using it, but if it is wrong or incomplete it can be 
easily updated.  In particular, it would be easy and helpful to add 
links to more detailed how-tos for specific distributions or circumstances.
