Although with most newer proxies you do actually have to implement the
SSL protocol (of course what data is inside that encrypted payload is
up to you).
I've seen proxies that will refuse to pass anything that doesn't "look
like" SSL over HTTP CONNECT. But of course that's not a very high bar
to get over.
