Well, imho You think like IBM-manager about DCE/DFS do. Are you anyhow
connected to IBM?
Of cause, much sounds quit familliar, as all the mechanism do which deals
with solid data distribution.
Let me answer with questions :
How do you make sure in terms of GFS, that gonzo (sitting on a obscure
undefined client at the other end of the world) get its data, that *only*
gonzo get it and that no one else can look at it while the data travel
through all kind of suspect networks?
For short:
GFS and AFS deal on the same field ,but they do with different targets
