We are doing this kind of stuff without problems using LVM+xfs.
=46irst, expand the logical volume, then grow the xfs. That's it.

Well, its as safe as any undocumented feature.
Just make sure that you don't have an old sysid lying around on the partiti=
on=20
you are going to mount there anew.
