Someone at the conference mentioned some specific patch levels... I
think they're in Tom Kula's notes. But those were guesses, I believe; we
haven't gone through all of the patches and seen where it starts
occurring.

But I haven't even confirmed this on Sol11 / OpenSolaris yet, which I
want to do.

Well, this doesn't make the client completely unusable or anything; make
a big enough cache and you won't hit it. It just hangs things if you
mmap a file bigger than the cache and try to read the whole thing (I
think; the details haven't been fully explored yet).
