The OpenAFS maintainers are happy to announce the availability of
OpenAFS 1.8.16pre1.

This release fixes a bug that had caused Linux 6.17 clients to not see
filename changes made on other clients (originally reported by Gaja
Peters); adds support for Linux mainline kernels through 7.0; and works
around an issue where client utilities (e.g., 'fs', 'bos') on macOS Apple
CPUs would crash on startup (by distributing the x86_64 version of the
utilities and relying on Rosetta for execution); as well as other minor
improvements.

Please assist the maintainers by deploying and testing this release and
providing positive or negative feedback.  Bug reports should be filed

openafs-info@openafs.org.
