I wasn't planning on installing it today, but we had a 30-minute power-outage and that's longer than the UPS in my office will last. The machine had been running 1.6.1-pre2. The install went fine without any problems, and in my limited testing everything seems to be working okay. Before 1.6.1-pre2 it had been running 1.6.0-release, and before that it had been running 1.5.78-release. Now that you've dropped back to 1.5.78 and it is working, what happens if you try to install 1.6.1 on top of that? -- Garance Alistair Drosehn = drosih@rpi.edu Senior Systems Programmer or gad@FreeBSD.org Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; Troy, NY; USA From shadow@gmail.com Sun Apr 15 04:11:49 2012 From: shadow@gmail.com (Derrick Brashear) Date: Sat, 14 Apr 2012 23:11:49 -0400 Subject: [OpenAFS-port-darwin] OpenAFS Client 1.6.1 (Snow Leopard) installer reports error / aklog fails In-Reply-To: <4F8A3B4C.8090501@rpi.edu> References: <4F8A3B4C.8090501@rpi.edu> Message-ID: <92DDBA5D-1918-48FA-9087-E15B0D557A61@gmail.com> there were some files in the 1.6.1 snow leopard installers with bad permissi= ons which I fixed the day it was first reported. all people who had open RT t= ickets were notified but I failed to post here mostly because I've been snow= ed under for months Derrick On Apr 14, 2012, at 23:08, Garance A Drosihn wrote: > On 4/5/12 7:08 PM, Duncan S Kincaid wrote: >> We have not had success installing the latest OpenAFS 1.6.1 client. >> Particulars: >>=20 >> OpenAFS Client: >> OpenAFS 1.6.1 for MacOS 10.6 (MacOS 10.6 (Snowleopard) Universal package >> ) >>=20 >> Hardware: >> 1. variety of iMacs (all with Core 2 Duo processors) >> 2. Message-ID: <20120420165920.Horde.vhpFVEisJlFPkXnILWOmaAA@mail.elis.ugent.be> Hi, I've just upgraded from OpenAFS 1.4.x (I think it was 1.4.11) to 1.6.1 on my PowerMac G5 running Mac OS X 10.5.8. I'm now constantly getting messages like this in my system log: Apr 20 16:55:30 bigmac kernel[0]: found mistyped vnode! Apr 20 16:55:46: --- last message repeated 55 times --- I've performed an "fs flushcache ." in a directory on the AFS volume, but that did not help. Any ideas/tips? Jonas
