The way I wish this would work is that if the domain name abbreviation
"slac" works for ordinary DNS lookups, then the same name should map to
the full cell name.  Back in the day, this is the way that the old DFS
code used to work (before full DCE integration).

This means that the /afs/. directory has to be able to represent
symlinks that map from abbreviations to cell names, and likely can map
from SLAC.STANFORD.edu to slac.stanford.edu, also.
