This error originates in Kerbos Authentication: "Authentication Expired".
Note, each authentication ticket has an expiration timer associated with
it.

Do you have a similar problem if you log in using Win2k or Linux client?
Is your Windows ME clock "close" to the same time as your server?
Have you set the proper time zone?

Windows 98/ME has a log that can be activated using "Settings".   Having a
listing of that activity during logon may be helpful.
