No. OpenAFS doesn't use automake at all. There's been some work at it, but
it's not anywhere near finished. If you look at regen.sh you'll see that
it's commented out.

Also, You'll want to use autoconf 2.13, and not any of the 2.5x's, since
they're not backwards compatible. 

automake has written over Makefile.in in all directories where there are
Makefile.am's, so you have to checkout new copies of these from the
repository.
