Hi everyone,

Funny, I just produced empty volume headers today. How? I was building
Openafs 1.2.3 on AIX 4.3.3.0 and as soon as I create a new volume, I get
the error message ": I/O error" from vos create and the Volserver logs:

Mon Feb 18 18:41:25 2002 VCreateVolume: Problem lseek inode 512 (err=22)
Mon Feb 18 18:41:25 2002 1 Volser: CreateVolume: Unable to create the volume; aborted, error code 103
Mon Feb 18 18:41:25 2002 : For future use
Mon Feb 18 18:41:53 2002 VAttachVolume: Error reading volume header /vicepa/V0537039890.vl
Mon Feb 18 18:41:53 2002 1 Volser: ListVolumes: Could not attach volume 537039890 (V0537039890.vl) error=101

Any enlightening tips and tricks before I dive into the source?

Btw, how do I enable the Linux way of running the fileserver, I mean
without depending on the inodes?

Harald.
