Chas,

I still do not understand why openafs ran out of memory on our mail server.
The machine has 2 GByte of ram and 4 GByte swap space. The time the oops has
occured more or less 3.8 GByte swap space has been available on this server.
According to my understanding kmalloc or vmalloc should return pointers to
newly allocated memory as long as all virtual memory has not been consumed up
