For initial client tests, I'd take a cellname I like into ThisCell and
put this cell and a few more cells nearby into CellServDB. Then run
the rc-script and ls /afs/ (not ls -l as a starter). If you see
something there that is a good start and you can start some cd and cat
of public readable files.
