I wrote a config test which tries to figure out a "good compiler"
under Solaris and under AIX or uses exactly the CC that you specify. I
guess that config test should be intregrated so that it is actually
run and used "real soon now".

Jimmy: Change your Makefile.sun4x_58* in the meantime.
