In the last few months I've done some development to have a ptserver with the
Samba winbind backend. This would not only work for AD but also for an AD where
you still trust a legacy NT4 environment. Given the limitations of current
winbind it does the best it can do and works quite well. I'm currently working
on improving winbind currently.
