I nuked it, and now the module loads fine, but due to a defect in my
startup script I managed to start afsd twice without a /afs
directory. Now I'm in this interesting situation:

At this point I tried to killall afsd with no luck, even -KILL didn't
do anything. A quick top shows that afsd is now hogging 100% CPU,
which I noticed because all the fans suddenly spun up (yay for
multiproc boxen, I can still work!) I don't know if it was doing
this before or after I kill -9'ed it.

This seems bug-ish, and I suspect I'm going to have to reboot. Once
I get back to a sane state again, I'll let you know how things are
going.

Cheers,

Somone asked me why I work on this free (http://www.fsf.org/
philosophy/) software stuff and not get a real job. Charles Shultz
had the best answer:

"Why do musicians compose symphonies and poets write poems? They do
it because life wouldn't have any meaning for them if they didn't.
That's why I draw cartoons. It's my life."
