Oh I'm with you on the MTU sizes bit. I've seen a lot of UDP apps out  
there and none of them probe interfaces to grab MTUs. Heck, if it was  
necessary to do that then the IP stack would do it for us. But this  
another discussion for another day.

I endeavour to have a patch posted on -devel today that people may  
apply against 1.4.4. I'm doing a ton of testing as I go along, so I'm  
being careful about the patch I eventually post.
