yes

people probably care about the strengths and weaknesses of AFS protocols
and semantics (including performance relative to competing systems),
quality and stability of implementation (which has really strengthened
over several years, esp. with regard to stability, Jeff's work on the
Windows client) and, where those are changing, speed of evolution
