Assuming the authtab thing isn't a strict requirement, then I'm mistaken 
and someone (not me, I don't care) should take this one up on LKML. You're 
going to have a fight though, since the patch came from hch, and he's a
poster child for "non-GPL modules violate my intellectual property 
rights and should all die".
