It is just supergroups that's broken. The horrific pointer  
manipulation games that the supergroups code plays aren't safe on some  
64bit platforms.

acdef43d818ee56e6c1f1dc29f508c02793c8355 was just pushed to master to  
fix this there - it will need backported to the 1.6 and 1.4 branches.
