The point release 1.6.22.1 has been announced.  This is a minimal point
release to support for Linux 4.14 and to fix serveral build errors.

A pre-release to address the getcwd() issues reported on RHEL 7.4 will be
issued. Sites will be encouraged to report results of the prerelease.
