1.8.x series
============

* git tig pushed for 1.8.4pre1: openafs-stable-1_8_4pre1

* Stephan testing 1.8.4pre1 plus patches for linux 5.5 support

* Ben reports the kernel for ubuntu is now new
  enough to require 1.8.3, but debian packaging
  for 1.8.3 needs to be done.

* Stephan to do 1.8.4pre1 uploads/web sites change/announcements.

1.6.x series (old stable)
=========================

* Stephan has been testing 1.6.23 on RHEL7.7.
* Next 1.6.x release to follow 1.8.4pre1


master/1.9.x
============

Mike will update the NEWS file to pull in the final changes from the
1.8.4 version.

Yadav reports the dput fix 13748 is working fine in the deployed site, where
deadlock was reported.

Yadav pointed out some aklog memory leaks to Ben and Andrew.

Yadav is testing 13705 (native mount support) in 1.6 code base.

Mark V submitted 13758 rx: ensure proper operation of RX_DEAD timeout
to fix a bug where an rx call is incorrectly kept alive *after*
the peer was restarted.

Many and various commit updates and reviews on master.

Mark V reports gerrit 13684 fails to compile on SLES 11.3,
which is old but still on long term support.

Discussion on gerrit 13573 and which level of kernel
versions it supports. A check in the meeting shows
it should be fine as far back as RHEL4 (2.6.9).  Note that
kernels 2.4 are no longer supported.
