* Patches to support linux 5.0 have been merged on the master and 1.8 branches.

* Stephan would like to schedule the next 1.6.x release after the 1.8.3pre1 release.

1.8.x series
============

* Stephan reports work continues on 1.8.3pre1 preparation. Checking
  for any missed fixed which should be backported from master.

* NEWS changes are ready for review.

* Pthreaded xstat patches have been merged to the master branch.

* Pthreaded bosserver patches have been rebased for review and testing.

* Reviews and testing of rxgk phase 1 in progress
