Hi,
I have no idea if this helps, but I got the same message:
[root@peel]# bos create peel buserver simple /usr/afs/bin/buserver -cell pc2.upb.de -noauth
[root@peel]# /usr/afs/bin/buserver: problems with host name Ubik init failed
/usr/afs/bin/buserver: problems with host name Ubik init failed
[...]
My configuration is:
OpenAFS 1.0.3
Redhat 6.2 + Patches
i386
