[OpenAFS] questions on AFS

Hi everybody,
can any one explain these questions?

1) Does AFS supports file level migration? If not what 
is the reason?

2) I came to know that AFS is not supporting byte level locking?
Many application make use of Byte level locking? Why has AFS has not
implmented it, 
although large univercities use it? Does the commercial version of AFS
support byte range locking.?

3) How about use of database over AFS? is it advantageous or 
disadvantageous to use AFS for this application?
