[OpenAFS] scariest thing I ever saw...

We've been running it for quite a while and nothing like
this happened. This problem appeared only after we created
a new cell and had part of the machines reconfigured as cliens
of the new cell. What exactly was wrong with OpenAFS 1.0.4 ?
