Probably I could give you more information on such a strange phenomenon.

I am one of the people who has the same problem on /bin/ls.  My client
host is again an Sun Sparc 20 (SuperSparc II CPU) running Solaris 8
with "04" kernel patch applied.  My copy of openafs 1.0.2 was compiled
under Forte C 6 (update 1).  

When trying /bin/ls on the AFS volume, it works okay when the directory
has less than 32 items (excluding "." and "..").  But when I tried
creating more than 32 sub-directories in this directory, /bin/ls seemed
to hang for a while and it gives "Resource temporarily not available".
