You didn't say anything about that other machine being a database
server.

You probably need to:

shut down all servers

remove that old IP addr from /usr/afs/etc/CellServDB and
/usr/vice/etc/CelLServDB on all your other servers and clients, or
change to ip addr of new server

make sure new server has vl and pt servers running

start up vl and pt servers everywhere 

Check with udebug to make sure server synced and all have databases

Start up all file servers.




It might be easier to do:

Shut down new server, re-address with the old name and IP addr if you
can, bring back up. See
