[OpenAFS] libafs-2.4.17smp.mp.o does not exist

What I would do:

1) move all your un-used /usr/src/linux-* directories out of the way.
2) rebuild your kernel, starting from "make mrproper" ;)
3) install your new kernel; reboot; make sure you are running the new kernel
4) rebuild your AFS kernel module against your freshly built kernel.
5) load AFS and be happy :)
