[OpenAFS] Can't start {ka,vl,bu}server from bos

I've compiled an OpenAFS 1.2.2 on Linux, and gotten to the point where
my bosserver is up and running and assigned the cell name. When I try
to start the {ka,vl,bu}server with:

# bos create dominatrix.lackflicka.nu kaserver simple \ 
  /usr/afs/bin/kaserver -cell assv.net -noauth

I get this in the BosLog:

Mon Feb 11 15:14:20 2002: kaserver exited with code 255Mon Feb 11
15:14:20 2002: BNODE 'kaserver' repeatedly failed to start, perhaps
missing executable.

What's the deal? A quick grep through the archive suggests that DNS
might be the problem, but that's the machine's name in DNS, both
forward and backwards.
