There seems to be no ideal solution.

Typically I would like to a directories beside
the home directory on afs.

  login	auth       sufficient pam_unix.so
  login	auth       required pam_afs.so debug try_first_pass

Since a user (here) typically has a local account he/she will
have to klog after a successfull login to get an afs token.
So he/she has to enter his/her password twice.
It's just a nuisance though.
