You've lost me on the terminology. It's port mapping but not (IP) address
translation is the gist of what this means, and so the UDP timeout is
essentially unmapping the port? If so, it's being unmapped due to no
traffic, and that's the screw. The wiki at www.openafs.org should have
some suggestions, perhaps readers have others.
