I am using AFS since version 1.2.6 (1.2.7) now ... normally AFS is
working quite
fine, but sometimes my log files show the following lines:

Nov 20 16:40:33 thunder kernel: Unable to handle kernel paging request
at virtual address e96f0000
Nov 20 16:40:33 thunder kernel: printing eip:
Nov 20 16:40:33 thunder kernel: e967af3e
Nov 20 16:40:33 thunder kernel: *pde = 1cdce067
Nov 20 16:40:33 thunder kernel: *pte = 00000000
Nov 20 16:40:33 thunder kernel: Oops: 0000
Nov 20 16:40:33 thunder kernel: CPU: 0
Nov 20 16:40:33 thunder kernel: EIP: 0010:[<e967af3e>] Tainted: PF
Nov 20 16:40:33 thunder kernel: EFLAGS: 00010246
Nov 20 16:40:33 thunder kernel: eax: 00000000 ebx: e97eb608 ecx:

Nov 20 16:40:33 thunder kernel: esi: 20000009 edi: e96f0000 ebp:
c915ff4c esp: c915feb4
Nov 20 16:40:33 thunder kernel: ds: 0018 es: 0018 ss: 0018

After that some directories in the AFS-tree are mixed up and show
hundereds of files with weird names like "$"sadf325äasfölkwejrök", while
other directories are still working fine.
Applications which access files in the mixed up directories crash, but
thank god, I did not lose any files up to now.

I am using Mandrake Linux 9.0 with the standard kernel shipped with the
distribution (2.4.19-16mdk). The Problem occurs on both single- and
dual-processor machines.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Alex
