This is what I get (on OpenAFS 1.2.7):

$ fs lsm /afs/linux.ibm.com
'/afs/linux.ibm.com' is a mount point for volume '#root.cell'

$ fs lsm /afs/.linux.ibm.com
'/afs/.linux.ibm.com' is a mount point for volume '%root.cell'

No mention of any servers.

If you believe your local AFS cache is out of synchronisation,
you can do an: "fs checkv".
